Hiking down to Havasupai

The beginning of this week I hiked down to Havasupai in the Grand Canyon. I headed to the Grand Canyon late Sunday night after church due to a prior commitment. I arrived at the rim of the Grand Canyon at about 12:15am. I then had a decisions to make, due I hike down in the dark or do I sleep in my truck til sunrise and hike in then. Well I ended up choosing the latter. I left the truck at about 4:30am after resting in my truck, not really sleeping, the first half hour of the trip was in the dark. After a nice three hour hike I was at the bottom. I met up with the rest of our group of sixteen. Havasupai is south of the Grand Canyon National Park on the Havasupai Indian Reservation. It is a tributary canyon and river to the Colorado River. The water is crystal clear due to it being a spring feed river. There are three major waterfalls Havasu Falls, Mooney Falls, and Navajo Falls. If you enjoy hiking and camping I highly recommend this trip. Although it is not for the faint of heart. The hike out is not an easy task my any means. It is a 13 mile hike out all up hill with a 1000ft change in elevation all in the last mile. Below are a some pics from the trip! Hope you enjoy them!
